What's Cooking?

At the beginning of the week, nothing extra, Thursday however saw a severe upswing in the amount of kitchen time. It started with sourdough biscuits.


I put some peach and thyme preserves on one half and some crabapple jelly on the other half; I made both jams last summer. I had never made sourdough biscuits before and they were very tasty but I think they would be better dinner rolls rather than biscuits.

Last night's menu called for hot sauce and I needed to make it early in the day so the ingredients would have time to meld together.
I think that is all for this week. Hopefully next week will bring a little more cooking time, although soon enough, I will have more kitchen time than I can manage with making sweet pickles, chutneys, jams, & jellies nearly every day as soon as the summer bounty starts rolling in.
