Yesterday I killed a Scorpion...
IN MY HOUSE!!!!!! Okay, I need to preface this by saying that I realize that my profile says that I live in Deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas - which is true - but I don't actually live in the woods. I live in the quintessential American neighborhood in a city that just happens to be deep in the heart of the Piney Woods region of Texas.
Now that we've all gotten that out of the way, back to the point which is I KILLED A BABY SCORPION ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER YESTERDAY!!!!!! Oh my gosh! Now surely that was not in my Mom job description...but it will now forevermore be on my Mom resume. Pary Moppins - Scorpion Slayer...it has a nice ring to it...

Have you had a problem with ants? The Terminex guy told me years ago that Scorpions eat ants, get rid of the ants, get rid of scorpions. However, don't do as I did and call an exterminatior for scorpions, because there isn't anything that can spray/treat them with because they have an exoskeleton and poisions don't have an effect on them.
ReplyDeleteSo, you and I are in the Scorpion Slayer Sisterhood! We'll have to get t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteI have not had a problem in the house with ants and Engineer does a good job of spraying in the yard for pesky fire ants. That is very interesting though about the fact that they eat ants and when you cut off their food supply, they will move on. I think what happened was that I had lots of fruit and veggies on my countertop that people had given me lately...people who DO live in the woods, etc. :) I am going to believe that he was an unfortunate hitch hiking visitor from the country.
