Menu Plan Monday
I was picked for jury duty last week and after waiting about 40 minutes, we were asked to come back this week. So that's on the docket...oh, and apparently knitting needles are considered weapons even when they have a four foot scarf dangling from them so don't try to take them into the courthouse. I'm just sayin'...
This week begins the Lenten season and as such, Shrove Tuesday or Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras or Pancake Day whatever you call it is the last day before Lent starts. The tradition of Pancake Day in England began when the women needed to clear out their cupboards of anything that would seem frivolous during the 40 days of fasting and reflection (like flour, lard, and sugar.) So Shrove Tuesday for the religious folks became Pancake Day for the non-religious. Everybody in the U.K. has pancakes (which in England are more like crepes) on the Tuesday before Lent and they serve them with sugar and lemon. We are going the blueberry wholewheat with syrup route instead.
Monday - Mustard Beef Rolls, Green Beans, & Roasted Potatoes
Tuesday - Blueberry Wholewheat Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, & Bacon (Neighborhood Dinner)
Wednesday - Big Salad
Thursday - Tacos, Beans, & Salad
Friday - Date Night
This is part of Organizing Junkie's Menu Plan Monday.
