I Don't Think You Understand...
Goodbye old friend! |
...How happy I am to have my new oven! Pary's got her groove back (said with a sassy roll of the neck.)
You don't realize how deep the need is to roast or bake something until there is no means to do it.
I was so bummed to lose my mid-century Thermador oven that was original to the house. It was retro space-age chic and really suited our quirky house and its quirky inhabitants.
But I had to let ol' Thermie go and replace him with a new Whirlpool whipper-snapper.
Hello Sailor! |
Look! It even has a window so I can see the magic happen. Ooohhhh....
I am on Cloud 9 and have already started baking.
In celebration of the new oven, I thought I would share a recipe with you.
THE recipe where I took that baby for a whirl(pool). >Groan...<
Cranberry Persimmon Bread
I was introduced to this recipe from Ms. Amanda at Saving Myself Silly after telling her that I had a ton of persimmons from a friend's tree.
Now the dilemma will be what to cook next!
This is Day 6 of the Bloggy Moms Blog Dare.

Day 5 - What I Had Hoped to Accomplish With My Blog in 2012
This is part of Miz Helen's Full Plate Thursday.
Awesome i love both the gadgets! The old one is interesting, how did it work? I want one! I've got a whirlpool too and i absolutely love it. That bread looks delicious! I'm thinking about baking some hot choccolate cookies, im at home sick today. Mother nature is kicking my behind {TMI sorry}. I'm following you on Pinterest, i don't have facebook. Your blog is super cute! I'm stopping by from the December hop. I hope you have a great Thursday.

The old one had two dials: one for broil or bake and the other for temperature setting. It cooked 25 off (which I learned the hard way) but was so cool. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOhhhh - I am jealous! I love your new oven....although I do have to admit a certain amount of intrigue with your old one! Mine is a very ordinary white, nothing special looking oven - but since I am not what you could really call much of a baker, or really even a very good cook, truth be told, there isn't a whole lot of demand for a nice oven. Have fun with your new "toy" - just in time to do some Christmas baking:-)
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely having fun with my new toy. I've already got a stack of recipes and I'm raring to go. I may not sleep tonight and just bake my way through. :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYour patience is amazing! I would have had to drop in at a friend's house for a baking fix!
ReplyDeleteI was getting a little mopey and friends did offer. If it would have gone on any longer then I would have lugged my whole baking cabinet down to the church and had a big time! :)
DeleteI've never seen anything like your old oven, I too am intrigued. That new one looks super fancy though, enjoy your yummy bread!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a bit fancy for me too since I didn't want/need anything fancy. I just need it to cook stuff. :) This was the least fancy model that would fit in our oddly sized space. So far I've played with almost all of the buttons. It's like getting a new toy for Christmas!
DeleteNice oven!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's getting run through its paces today.
DeletePary,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about your new oven, that is just awesome!! It sure made that bread look good, I bet you are having a ball with that new toy. Hope you have a great week and thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
