What I Want New Mothers to Know
I remember feeling totally out of sorts when Diva was born. I looked around at other young mums thinking that they were so put together and in control. They didn't look at all sleep deprived or overwhelmed and they certainly never left the house with unmatched socks and unwashed hair.
Lucky for me, I had a wonderful group of friends in England who treated us like family and would help in any way they could. All I needed to do was ask.
New moms should just know that they don't have to shoulder everything by themselves. All they need to do is voice their request. People are usually more than happy to oblige but they can't read your mind. So just ask.
Oh, and I would also tell them about milk donation.
This is Day 12 of the Bloggy Moms Blog Dare.

Day 3 - What We Tell (or Don't Tell) Our Children About Christmas
Day 4 - Acts of Kindness
Day 5 - What I Had Hoped to Accomplish With My Blog in 2012
Day 6 - I Don't Think You Understand
Day 7 - I Finally Gave In And...
Day 8 - The Look On Their Face Made It All Worth It
Day 9 - I Was Certain That I Would Disappoint
Day 10 - The Old Item of Clothing That I Just Can't Part With
Day 11 - I Seem to Collect
I think this is such an important thing to impart to new mothers. Actually, it wasn't hard to parent my first, sleeping baby. It was my second child who never slept and nursed constantly when my facade began to crack.
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at moms who have more than one. Thanks for dropping by Ms. Jamie.
