Borax Review
I grew up with my parents and grandparents talking about 20 Mule Team Borax and all of its mystical powers of bug deterrence.
What is Borax anyway?
Here comes the science, brace yourself:
Borax is a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.
What does Borax do?
Well, besides my family's insistence that it keeps critters away, it is a water softener and laundry booster.
I keep a box around the house to make my own laundry detergent.
I tried it as a laundry booster the other day to get the chocolate and lipstick stains off of my white napkins that I used for brunch. Why did I use white napkins for brunch? It worked brilliantly!
I just put the napkins, some of my homemade laundry detergent, Borax, and some water in a bowl and left it overnight. When I laundered them the next day, everything was nice and bright with no signs of new stains.
Oh, and as for the bug repellent - sprinkle Borax around the perimeter of your house (inside and out.) Critters that you don't want to live in your house don't like it and it is non-toxic to the critters that do live in your house.
My sweet friend over at Saving Myself Silly even made Flubber using Borax! This is versatile stuff!
If you want to try Borax for yourself you can either try for a free box in their Fresh Year, Fresher Laundry Sweepstakes or you could try for a coupon for a FREE box via the rafflecopter below.
Please note that the winner has 3 days after being contacted to respond before a new name is drawn. Good luck!
I was sent a box of Borax to facilitate my review. All opinions and non-stained napkins are my own.
Thanks to all the participants. The winners have been contacted.
