Madly In Love
Engineer lets me take French cooking classes.
They are a totally unnecessary, frivolous, wonderful, and marvelous expense that is just for me.
We could spend that money doing something as a family or as a couple but instead, I get to have the luxury of laughing, learning, and playing in the kitchen with my girlfriends.
He doesn't complain.
Of course it doesn't hurt that he gets to eat the fruits of my labor.
And let's be honest, there is no way he could ever begrudge me when his mouth is full of freshly made Creme Brulee.
1-4-3 EM!
Oh you are lucky!!! I would love to take French cooking classes! My hubs would probably like that too! Maybe one day!
ReplyDeleteI feel lucky every day Ms. Kat. :)
DeleteOh! Me too! I want to take French cooking classes! I wouldn't consider cooking lessons as frivolous at all. You will be able to pass down the things you learn to your daughter. I had no idea how to cook when I got married.
ReplyDeletehmmm... does that sound sexist? Well, I could say the same thing if you had a son. I would have loved if my husband could cook anything besides fried bologna sandwiches :)
I couldn't cook either when we got married...or for a long time after that. :) Engineer doesn't cook at all. On rare occasions, I have him get something from the freezer (that I had made previously) and reheat it. I take that back, he can make some mean banana bread. ;)
DeleteI'd love to take some sort of cooking class, though I'm not that into French food. :) I LOVE to cook, though, and I seem to be pretty good at it, but I've learned through watching my mom and grandma and through my own intuition. :)
ReplyDeleteOur instructor is actually French and she worked at Le Cirque in New York for awhile before being whisked away by a good ol' Texas boy. I think us girls just feel fancy learning from her. ;)
DeleteI would blow up the kitchen haha, I am doing roller derby for my "me" thing. It's some how safer that way haha
ReplyDeleteHow ironic that roller derby is safer than cooking for you. :)
