Madly in Love

Engineer and I don't give one another gifts on Christmas, instead, we fill each other's stockings.  We've done it this way for years.

We are very blessed to have all of our needs (and a few of our wants) met and neither of us have the love language of receiving gifts, so in this very practical household, it doesn't seem prudent to exchange gifts.

That being said, I didn't even have much to put in his stocking this year.  When I told him that his stocking was going to be a bit meager, he just looked at me with his beautiful green eyes full of sincerity.  Then he said most humbly, "Honestly, I am so thrilled that you love it so much down here that that is the only gift I wanted and the best gift I could have gotten."

He means that too.

Engineer's happiness quotient is directly related to mine.
He tells me all the time that if I'm happy, he's happy...and that's not some platitude; he truly believes it.

It's not that hard to be happy when I am by Engineer's side and this is the view

Sunset in our 'hood

1-4-3 EM and I am looking forward to a lifetime of days to make you happy.
